Dogfish Head Punkin Ale is Back for 2014

By Adam Rains

A full-bodied brown ale with smooth hints of pumpkin and brown sugar. We brew our Punkin Ale with pumpkin meat, brown sugar and spices. As the season cools, this is the perfect beer to warm up with.

dogfish-pumpkinWhile pumpkin ales started showing up as early as July 1st, Dogfish Head specifically instructed distributors to hold this beer until this week. The artwork is a little different this year, featuring the artwork of Jermaine Rogers. His bold artwork adorns the brewery’s four seasonals, Aprihop, Festina Peche, Punkin and soon – Piercing Pils. Dogfish Punkin Ale is available in 12oz-4 packs and draft.

Punkin Ale is named after the seriously off-centered southern Delaware extravaganza Punkin Chunkin. Punkin Chunkin has grown in size and scale, with pumpkins now being hurled more than 4,000 feet through the air! If you come down to see if for yourself, drop by and visit us. Since its debut, Punkin ale has been brewed each and every fall. It is released right around Sept. 1 each year. When you find it, grab some extra because it’s usually gone by Thanksgiving.

To find where our wholesalers have delivered this beer in the past 60 days, check out the Fish Finder (you can search by beer and by zip). As a reminder, it is always best to call and confirm a retailer still has the beer before making any treks!
