Royal Salute Recognizes Actor John Cho with the Brand’s Highest Distinction, The Mark of Respect Award

Royal Salute, one of the most coveted and admired luxury spirit brands in the world, today extended its highest honor – The Mark of Respect Award to actor John Cho for his achievements on and off the big screen.

Royal Salute has proudly celebrated men and women around the world for being effective leaders and achievers in the fields of arts and culture, and every year since 2006, the brand has paid tribute to deserving individuals within the Asian-American community for their remarkable work. This year, Royal Salute continued that legacy by announcing the Mark of Respect Award winner, Cho, at the 2014 Unforgettable Awards Gala, one of the premier entertainment events of the year for the Asian-American community.

This year’s Mark of Respect award winner was chosen by an esteemed selection committee, all of who are also notable leaders in the Asian-American community. The three members in the selection committee are proven achievers in their respective fields, and include:

Stewart Kwoh, Founding President and Executive Director of Asian Americans Advancing Justice
Lisa Ling, Television journalist, best known as the host of “This is Life with Lisa Ling”
James Ryu, Publisher of KoreAm Journal and Audrey Magazine

In selecting a winner, the committee sought after one individual who embodied the brand’s spirit of excellence and carried out the same values and traditions that Royal Salute represents. The selection committee and the brand felt that Cho was the perfect choice because of his achievements, and proven leadership inspiring current and future generations to come.
