CapaBubbles® Revolutionary Champagne Stopper

By Adam Rains

After spending more than twenty years in the wine industry, husband and wife winemaking team, Walt Averill and Máire Murphy have popped their fair share of corks on a variety of vintages.

But, no matter how many years passed by and how many glasses of wine were sampled, getting the cork back into a bottle never got any easier. When the time came to design the bottle for their own special blend of grapes, Walt and Máire created the first reusable wine bottle cap, CapaBunga®. Once people got a chance to use CapaBunga®, they quickly started asking if there was an option for sparkling wine or Champagne. CapaBubbles® was conceived and launched in May 2014.
There is nothing more frustrating than opening a bottle of champagne, only to not finish and have to throw it away. This is no longer an issue, thanks to CapaBubbles®, a reusable silicone cap that reseals a bottle of sparkling wine once it is opened, transforming a bottle of sparkling wine into a screw cap bottle. CapaBubbles® are made from food-grade silicone and available in a variety of colors, the caps are also imprinted with different fun phrases.

To use CapaBubbles® completely remove the foil capsule. Unscrew the cap from the base and snap the base below the flange of the bottle. Then by holding the thumb tabs on the base, screw cap tightly onto the base over the bottleneck. Now your bubbles will stay fresh for up to one week!

Another annoying problem is not being able to fit your Champagne or sparkling wine bottle into the fridge. Now, the Champagne or sparkling wine bottle will fit in your fridge door, there is no need to remove the base from the neck between pours. Just simply remove the base when the bottle is finished, re-screw it to the cap and store in the handy tube.

CapaBubbles® retails for $15.95 and can be purchased at www.capabunga.com
