Super Cocktails: Fresh Blueberry MUST MIX Cocktails
Blueberries Beat the Blues
Bowl-full of blueberries now available for your mixing pleasure. Summer is the perfect time to mix with berries. Blueberries have lots of healing properties and are the perfect powerhouses of nutrition. They are loaded with antioxidants and contain powerful disease-fighting substances. These super berries have been found to decrease free radical levels that are linked to aging.
What’s more, many studies, including research at Tufts University in the U.S., have found that just a half a cup of blueberries a day may be able to reverse the onset of Alzheimer’s disease. Scientific studies have also shown that blueberries are a rich source of ellagic acid, a phytonutrient, which has proven anti-cancer capabilities.

Intense Blueberry Jasmine Cocktail

- 1 1/2 oz. Belvedere Intense Vodka
- 1 1/2 oz. Jasmine blueberry syrup (recipe below)
- Lemon wedge
- Club soda
- Fresh mint and blueberries for garnish
Preparation: In an empty soda glass add half a dozen fresh blueberries. Fill the glass with ice. Add the jasmine blueberry syrup and vodka. Squeeze the lemon wedge into the glass and fill with club soda. Gently stir the drink and garnish with fresh mint sprig and blueberries.
Jasmine Blueberry Syrup
- 1 Cup of sugar
- 1 Cup of water
- 1 Cup of frozen blueberries
- 3 Tbsp Jasmine Tea
Preparation: Combine sugar, water and blueberries in a sauce pan and bring to a boil to dissolve the sugar. Add tea and let simmer for approximately 10-15 minutes to taste. Strain the syrup to remove the tealeaves and blueberries. Let cool before using.
Wild Blueberry Kaiquiri

- 1 1/2 oz. Bacardi White Rum
- 3 oz. Frozen blueberries
- 1 oz. Fresh lemon juice
- 1 to 2 Tbsp. Simple syrup
Preparation: In a blender, puree ingredients along with a cup of crushed ice. Blend until thick. Pour into a cocktail glass.
- 8 Basil leaves
- 4 Mint leaves
- 1 tsp. Raw sugar
- 1 Tbsp. Lime juice
- 12 Blueberries
- 1 1/2 oz. Rum
- Top with soda water
Preparation: Muddle basil, mint, sugar, and lime juice in base of a shaker glass. Add blueberries and continue to muddle. Add rum and ice and shake. Fill tall glass with ice and strain muddled rum mixture into glass and top with club soda. Garnish with blueberries.
