INGREDIENTS

  • 1 1/2 oz. Van Gogh Dutch Caramel
  • 1/2 oz. Absinthe
  • 1 Cube Sugar
  • 1/2 oz. Ice Cold H20

INGREDIENTS

Add to glass 1 1/2 oz. Van Gogh Dutch Caramel Vodka, mix with 1/2 oz. Absinthe. Place sugar cube on absinthe spoon and set on rim of glass. Slowly pour ice cold water over sugar cube into the mixture in your glass, then stir and enjoy.

INSPIRATION

I wanted to create a cocktail that Vincent Van Gogh would enjoy himself. My inspiration for this drink was Van Gogh’s “The Night Cafe” and his apparent love for Absinthe. I found that the sweet, burnt sugar taste with notes of vanilla and chocolate found in Van Gogh Dutch Caramel Vodka blended best with the bitterness in wormwood and undertones of star anise, which is found in Absinthe. The richness and bold flavor of Van Gogh Dutch Caramel Vodka makes this cocktail best to enjoy as an aperitif or digestif.
