INGREDIENTS:

1 1/4 oz. VEEV

3/4 oz. Yellow Chartruese

3/4 oz. Maraschino Liquor

3/4 oz. Fresh Lime Juice

Acai Puree

Strawberries

Mint

Powdered Sugar

PREPARATION:

Shake the VEEV, Chartruese, Maraschino and Lime Juice in a tin with ice. Strain over fresh ice in a exotic tiki glass, preferably clear. Top off with ice. To make the garnish combine crushed ice with the Acai puree and form into a “fruit bowl”, using a large hand juicer to mold, then fill the fruit bowl with chopped strawberries and mint. Dust cocktail with powdered sugar.

Serve and enjoy with a smile:)

Clear Tiki Glass, or Double Old Fashioned

INSPIRATION:

I love to be on vacation. I live in LA now but grew up in Massachusetts so while it feels like I am now on a permanent vacation, I’m not. I really enjoy when a post shift cocktail transports me to a momentary worry and stress free land. So I took this opportunity to create a little mini escape. I modeled “50 Ways to Veev Your Lover, #1″ after the classic Last Word cocktail.

I swapped out Green Chartruese for Yellow to allow the VEEV to really shine through. I also altered the specs a little for the same reason. The cocktail looks like a tiki cocktail which makes me feel like I am in paradise and the taste transports me away as well! The garnish (Frozen Acai puree fruit bowl) allows the cocktail to be ever evolving and a total experience.

I love the presentation I would gladly sit back relax and listen to some Paul Simon while sipping on this cocktail, maybe with some palm trees and a beach in the distance.
