2 1/2 oz. VEEV

1/2 oz. Luxardo Maraschino Liqueur

1 oz. Strawberry Rhubarb Marscapone Syrup

1/2 oz. Strawberry Puree

1/2 oz. Pineapple Juice


Combine all ingredients in a shaker with ice. Hard shake and double strain into cocktail glass. Garnish with large Strawberry topped with a small dollop of Marscapone cheese.

Strawberry Rhubarb Marscapone Syrup:

Sweat 1 cup diced Rhubarb in a saucepan over medium heat for 4 minutes.

Add 1 oz. water.

Reduce most liquid.

Add 1 1/2 cups diced Strawberries.

Sweat for 4 minutes on medium heat.

Add 1/4 cup sugar and a pinch of salt.

Incorporate over medium heat 2 minutes.

Add 1/4 cup of water and cook for 5 minutes on low heat.

Take off heat.

Blend until smooth.

Whisk in 3 tbsp. of Marscapone cheese.

Chill syrup and keep refrigerated.

I took the “Cheat on Vodka” slogan and ran with it. I wanted to create a cocktail that was both seductive and a showcase of VEEV’s unique flavor profile. I came up with the name Adulterous Intent first and then tried to think of what flavors would give away such an intended infidelity. My mind came to strawberries and cream as a typical flavor associated with love, but with it being adulterous, I wanted to add a sour aspect.

This is where the rhubarb and Maraschino liqueur came in. I chose to use marscapone in lieu of cream due to it being richer and being made by souring cream to cause coagulation. When these flavors blend together with VEEV, the cherry and acai berry notes accentuate the strawberry and the addition of pineapple smooths the palate and adds to the creamy mouth feel.
