I really enjoy sours and wanted to take a New York sour and make it feel more like home. With the great beer scene that San Diego is know for I replaced the red wine with one of my favorite beers which is Wahoo White Ale brewed locally in San Diego by Ballast Point. I enjoy the orange notes that come from the ale as well as the balance of citrus paired with smoke and spice that come from Solerno and Ancho Reyes.

When I was trying to think about the name I had to try the cocktail one more time and thought about the fresh flavor of VEEV and using Wahoo it made sense to make a reference to a fresh fish so ‘Catch Of The Day’ felt right. It also makes a reference to the fish tacos that can be had in San Diego and are prepared with the catch of the day
