2 oz. VEEV
1 oz. Blue Coat Barrel Aged Gin
1/2 oz. Cochi Americano
In a chilled mixing glass combine VEEV, Bluecoat Barrel Aged and Cochi Americano. Add ice, stir until chilled and properly diluted (approx. 15 – 20 seconds depending on ice). Strain into chilled cocktail glass. Spritz oil from one lemon peel over the cocktail and garnish.

The inspiration for this cocktail is the Vesper made famous by Ian Fleming’s James Bond in the book Casino Royale. As Bond worked for the British Intelligence, I found it only fitting to include Bluecoat for a sense of American Revolutionary Espionage. Acai and prickly pear are highlighted by the subtle quinine and citrus notes in Cochi Americano and enhanced even further by the gin botanicals. The barrel aged gin provides a touch of body and hints of charred American Oak really play out the Acerola Cherry aspect of VEEV.
