INGREDIENTS:

Veev Vodka

Himalayan Pink Salt

Pulped watermelon puree

Cucumber

Organic local honey

Sugar (if needed)

Seedless Sugar Watermelon

PREPARATION:

Infuse Veev vodka with peeled cucumbers for two weeks.

Puree sweet baby seedless watermelon.

Add 1 to 2 teaspoons of honey (depending of watermelon sweetness).

Skewer and freeze three balled watermelon balls

Add sugar if needed to sweeten juice (i did not have to add sugar to my melon).

Separate pulp from juice.

Add 2 oz. of Veev vodka to shaker.

Add 3 oz. watermelon juice to shaker.

Add two pinches if fresh ground pink Himalayan salt to shaker.

SHAKE VIGOROUSLY with ice.

Pour into very chilled or frozen martini glass.

Garnish and serve.

GARNISH:

Skewered frozen watermelon balls or cucumber slice in glass

GLASSWARE:

Martini

INSPIRATION:

I’ve been making a simple version of this cocktail for many years but for the sake of this challenge added another layer of flavor by adding the pink salt. This cocktail reminds me of back yard bbq’s and always adding salt to cold watermelon,and is perfect this time of year!! ENJOY
